This has a conventional race cape look, clear enough to view a race number or club jersey through, and with a long dropped tail. A stretchy rear panel keeps the lightly padded collar snug and the cuffs are easy to pull over gloved hands. Reflective trim around the wrist, hem and body is useful.
I bought this in anticipation of a rainy sportive I did last year (in the event, it stayed dry!). Having previously tried other premium rain jackets, I found there was always that well-documented trade-off, ie you can have water resistant and breathable - which lets water in eventually - or you can have totally waterproof and suffer the boil-in-the-bag effect of sweat being unable to escape. Frankly, I had given up. The extremely helpful fellows at TriHarder recommended this to me - my first thought was 'how can something so thin and compact be 100% waterproof AND breathable? Well, it is! It folds down into a tiny bag made from the same stuff as the cape itself, and stuffed into a jersey pocket you don't even know it's there. I now carry it on any ride with a chance of rain - but that's not all. It also doubles as an excellent extra layer if the weather turns chilly (for example if you ride at dusk). Perfectly breathable too - very, very comfortable to wear. Does a fine job of keeping windchill at bay too. Two hours plus of constant, steady rain and my top half was totally bone dry! The rest of me was completely saturated but my core stayed dry & warm enough to continue riding. It's been put to the test many times since then and has not once let me down, even in the torrential stuff! 10/10. (Posted on 26/01/2016)
